Your Mission The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) is a critical bridge between our business stakeholders and the Marketing Technology delivery team. This role must be able to analyze the existing Veeva vault PromoMats configuration and drive requirement gathering sessions in the context and constraints of the capabilities. This role combines deep analytical skills with technical acumen to ensure business needs are clearly understood, documented, and translated into well-defined user stories and actionable requirements.
The TBA is expected to confidently engage directly with business counterparts — leading conversations, challenging assumptions, and driving alignment — while also partnering closely with developers, QA, and platform teams to ensure successful delivery
What You’ll Do
- Business Acumen: Understands the "why" behind business requests and can connect technical solutions to business outcomes
- Stakeholder Confidence: Comfortable leading conversations with senior business leaders; pushes back constructively when needed
- Technical Fluency: Bridges the gap between business language and technical implementation without being a developer
- Jira Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Jira for story writing, backlog management, and sprint tracking
- Analytical Rigor: Breaks down complex problems, identifies edge cases, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks
- Communication: Clear, structured, executive-ready communication — both written and verbal
- Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent workstreams
- Face off directly with business counterparts to elicit, challenge, and refine requirements — acting as a trusted advisor, not just a note-taker.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and sprint reviews with business stakeholders to ensure continuous alignment.
- Translate ambiguous business asks into structured, clearly scoped deliverables.
- Build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners including Commercial Product, CQ, and Medical teams.
- Author clear, well-structured user stories in Jira with detailed acceptance criteria, business context, and dependencies.
- Maintain and groom the product backlog in collaboration with MarTech Delivery lead, Product Owner and Scrum Master.
- Ensure stories are appropriately sized, prioritized, and sprint-ready through regular refinement sessions.
- Create and maintain epics, features, and story hierarchies in Jira to ensure traceability from business need to delivery.
- Define and document Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) for user stories.
- Analyze existing systems, data flows, and integrations to identify technical impacts of proposed changes.
- Partner with architects and developers to evaluate solution options and document functional and technical specifications.
- Understand system architectures, APIs, data models, and integration patterns well enough to facilitate productive technical conversations.
- Support gap analysis between current-state processes and future-state platform capabilities.
- Assist in defining non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, compliance)
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define test scenarios
